Approved NTP Tuition Partner

What is the NTP?

The National Tutoring Programme, or NTP, is a government scheme designed to support teachers and schools affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The NTP is primarily focused on disadvantaged students, such as those receiving Pupil Premium funding, but it is ultimately up to schools to determine how to allocate resources.

From the 22/23 academic year schools receive NTP funding directly. This money is calculated on the number of pupil premium students on roll at the school. Schools can use this funding to hire an academic mentor, hire their own staff to deliver tuition as well as utilise quality assured tuition partners to deliver it. TLC LIVE is a tuition partner and has been since the NTP started in November 2020. We can provide English, maths, science and humanities tuition for children across Key Stage 1,2,3 and 4 and we only use fully qualified, UK-based teachers to deliver it. We can deliver 1:1 tuition, 3:1 individualised tuition as well as small group tuition up to 6:1. Here’s what one teacher had to say (we’re happy to supply references!):

4.46 out of 5 stars

Birchwood High School has been supported by TLC LIVE for over 15 years. We have been excited to be part of its evolution to online tutoring, which is now a key tool for any school. Whilst TLC LIVE’s delivery method may have changed, the core principle of having high quality, qualified teachers has not. This is the reason we continue to trust TLC LIVE to deliver to our students.

When the ‘Covid catch up’ became available TLC LIVE were our first point of call for adding value to our students, supporting our teachers and giving confidence to parents. Offering a flexible and quality service to supplement our own high-quality teaching.

Why should you choose TLC LIVE?

At TLC LIVE, we have been delivering high quality education to UK schools since 2004 and we currently work with more than half of England’s local authorities. Every one of our tutors is a fully qualified teacher, equipped to work with students from KS1 up to GCSE at varying abilities. We have over 80,000 hours of targeted content – and we never use dull, engagement-reducing PowerPoints.

To maximise the benefit we offer and close skill gaps as quickly as possible, every student is given their own individual learning plan after an initial assessment. The plan can be adjusted as other areas of required academic focus come to light. Our fully qualified tutors leave feedback after each lesson providing information on the students’ performance and progress.

As an approved NTP Tuition Partner, TLC LIVE can offer subsidised lessons, bringing high-quality, affordable tutoring to more students than ever.

How much does my school have to pay for tutoring?

Tutoring received through approved NTP tuition partners is subsidised by up to 60%, meaning schools can receive tutoring from dedicated, qualified teachers for just £13 per hour.

How are NTP sessions run?

Our NTP funded sessions are run online and held in real-time with a tutor, so the student can hear and speak throughout the session. During each session, a student works one-on-one with a qualified tutor who will teach up to three children at a time.

The other students, in separate break out rooms, are taught by the same tutor during the same session. However, each student works on their own lessons, and students do not interact with each other.

When can my school start to receive tutoring?

Schools can access tutoring right now. Contact us, and someone from our team here at TLC LIVE will reach out shortly. You can also consult our FAQs or book a free demo at a time that suits you.
