Parent reviews of our online maths tuition
“TLC has changed our lives. Both mine and my son’s. School was dreaded: parents’ evenings a list of things he had not achieved and homework a battle. The TLC team have shown Finn a world where learning is fun and where he is given the time he needed to ‘grasp the nettle’. He loves his sessions and already his test results have gone up a whole level.”
“My daughter was in Year 5 and needed some help with maths. TLC enhanced her confidence and made the learning fun. Last May, she achieved outstanding results in SATS and now at secondary school she continues to grow from strength to strength. My son is in Year 10 and is working with TLC to help him prepare for his GCSE Maths, being taken a year early. Both of my children continue to attend TLC LIVE because the tutoring is tailored to suit their individual educational needs but most importantly, they enjoy it.”
“Having had three children attending TLC LIVE over the last couple of years, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Not only does it provide a fun and interactive programme tailored to meet students’ individual needs, it also gives students the opportunity to learn at their own pace with the support of excellent and very encouraging tutors. I have seen my children gain in confidence, achieve better results at school and above all enjoy their learning because of TLC LIVE.”
Teacher reviews of our online maths tuition
“Birchwood High School has worked with TLC for eight years and we have nothing but praise for their quality of tuition. Whether face-to-face or online, our students continue to thrive with the dedicated attention of excellent tutors. Highly recommended for quality intervention.”
Charles Gilbank, Birchwood High, Bishop’s Stortford
“The pupils have engaged, enjoyed and showed tangible progress since we started using the programme in Years 10 and 11. The service and communication is excellent, and the flexibility to tailor the content to your pupils’ needs is outstanding. I have no hesitation in recommending TLC.”
Peter Gibbon, Great Baddow High School, Chelmsford
“I chose TLC LIVE because their tutoring model was topic-based, which means pupils are met at the level they were currently at. The TLC LIVE model also assesses progression of pupils over the course of the tutoring sessions but also within each hour-long session and we receive a detailed feedback report at the end of each session for every child which is great for assessing impact.”
Joanne Nagel, Assistant Headteacher, St John and St James Primary School
How online maths tuition with TLC works
Step 1
The online maths tuition begins with a free comprehensive initial assessment designed to identify your child’s skill gaps. Online maths lessons run through term time. You can book onto the whole course or join the remaining sessions whenever suits your child – and you’ll only ever pay for the lessons your child attends.
Step 2
A maths tutor then uses this information to create a comprehensive learning plan for your child, targeting specific areas like multiplication fluency, fraction understanding, or algebraic problem-solving. Tutors have access to over 35,000+ hours of maths material to create engaging content that helps students overcome any maths gaps.

Step 3
During every 60-minute session, your maths tutor will support your child as they work through maths concepts and problems. Using TLC is easy: all your child needs to do is log in from any internet-connected computer and get started on their personalised maths learning.
Step 4
After the session is over, the tutor records your child’s maths progress and performance across different topic areas. This makes it easy to see improvement in specific maths skills over time.

“I’ve been a KS2, KS3 and KS4 Maths tutor with TLC for two years and long division, trigonometry and rearranging equations are common difficulties faced by pupils.
